Touch matters. Softer and harder playing selects different recorded piano samples.

Sustain pedal? A standard MIDI sustain pedal (CC64) works, too.

Privacy. The MIDI notes stay in your browser. No recording or account required.

What do I need?

A USB MIDI keyboard, a computer with a supported browser such as Chrome or Edge, and speakers or headphones. The keyboard doesn't need its own sounds. Connect it, click Connect MIDI keyboardand permit the browser to access MIDI devices.

Is this really a grand piano?

You're hearing recordings of a Yamaha C5 grand piano, not the physical key action of one. The sound responds to how hard you play, and the sustain pedal works on compatible MIDI controllers. All audio is rendered locally in your browser.

Can I use it on an iPhone or in Safari?

Safari doesn't currently include native Web MIDI support. If your browser can't connect a MIDI keyboard, you can still tap the virtual keys. On a Mac, Chrome or Edge is the simplest option.
